Driving Global Growth: Integrated HR & Cross-Border Collaboration

Last week, I was architecting transformation strategies across three fascinating fronts.
Project Spotlight: Designed comprehensive HR frameworks for a fifty-person ESG company going through major reorganisation. The challenge? Their new head of HR needed to interview every employee while creating career development paths from scratch. My solution combined structured interview templates with competency mapping that aligns individual growth with the company’s ESG strategy. The result: a scalable system that turns potentially chaotic conversations into strategic workforce planning.
Learning Moment: Discovered that Italian ‘rete d’impresa’ structures can actually accommodate UK companies more easily than I expected – opening up interesting cross-border collaboration possibilities I hadn’t considered before.
Collaboration Highlight: Worked with Massimo and Michele on refining our stage gate project approval processes. Their operational insights helped turn theoretical frameworks into practical tools that actually speed up decision-making rather than creating bureaucracy.
Looking Ahead: This might be the week we decide whether to revive Smart Mountains and move from frozen potential to active execution – a journey I’m fortunate to navigate with very talented people who share the vision.
The following week brings an exciting blend of leisure and strategy as I head to South Africa. I’ll be networking and working with truly excellent people on sessions focused on unlocking climate value and real infrastructure planning – while also making time to enjoy the journey and grow meaningful connections.
Sometimes the best decisions happen when you create space for both focused work and authentic relationships.
